Conservapedia’s Original Source Project
The Conservapedia’s Original Source Project is an initiative by user:AnthonyPvanDuyn to preserve, structure, and present public‑domain primary texts in a clear, accessible, and SEO‑aligned format. Its purpose is to:
- provide easy public access to PD works
- provide easy copy and pastable materials
- provide easy original source references through Internal Links
- strengthen Conservapedia’s authority signals
- and strengthen Conservapedia’s trust signals
All done by simply hosting historically significant public domain works in a consistent, scholarly, and navigable manner.
This project provides editors with naming standards, formatting rules, and category requirements to ensure that all Original Source (OS) pages remain uniform, discoverable, and easy to maintain.
Purpose
The Original Source Project exists to:
- preserve public‑domain historical, theological, and scholarly works,
- provide readers with reliable access to primary texts,
- support commentary pages with authoritative source material,
- strengthen Conservapedia’s domain authority through structured internal linking,
- and create a unified cluster of primary documents for research and study.
Naming Standard
All OS pages must follow the official naming convention:
Original Source: Professional Title First Last - Work Title, Chapter
This format provides:
- clear disambiguation between authors,
- strong SEO signals through predictable structure,
- intuitive navigation for readers,
- and a namespace‑like identity for primary texts.
Examples:
- Original Source: Sir Isaac Newton - Observations on Daniel, Chapter 1 which allows for a internal link such as:
- Original Source: Sir Isaac Newton – Observations on Daniel, Chapter 1#Paragraph 5 to take the user directly to the quote,
- while a still being able to be displayed in a simplified form "...was preserved by the Samaritans..."
Original Source: Sir Isaac Newton - Observations on Daniel, Chapter 1#Paragraph 6
- Original Source: Bishop Thomas Newton - Dissertations on the Prophecies, Chapter 3
- Original Source: St. Jerome - Commentary on Daniel, Chapter 7
- Original Source: Josephus the Historian - Wars of the Jews, Book 2
Formatting Requirements
All OS pages must:
- begin with the “Original Source:” header using the naming standard,
- include the work title in italics within the first heading,
- present the text in clearly separated paragraphs or blockquotes,
- include paragraph markers (e.g., <p1>, <p2>, <p3>) to harmonize with standard referencing systems and improve internal linking,
- include a Public Domain Declaration at the bottom of the page,
- and end with the required category block.

This project supports Conservapedia’s broader SEO initiatives by providing authoritative source material for commentary and analysis.
