Bradley Byrne is a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives for Alabama's 1st congressional district. He won a special election in 2013 to succeed Jo Bonner (male), who stepped down from Congress to become vice chancellor of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.

Among the intra-party opponents whom Byrne defeated was the Mobile journalist Quin Hillyer, a New Orleans native who has been affiliated with National Review and The American Spectator.
