Robert William Barker (December 12, 1923 - August 26, 2023), more commonly known as Bob Barker, was the host of popular game show The Price Is Right, among other game shows, before retiring in 2007.

Barker served in the United States Navy as a fighter pilot during World War II, but was not assigned to a seagoing squadron before the end of the war. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Barker became an animal rights activist shortly after the death of his wife Dorothy in 1981, signing off every episode of The Price is Right with the tag line "Help control the pet population; have your pets spayed or neutered."

Barker died at his home in Los Angeles on August 26, 2023, at age 99.[1]
