Blat (software)
Blat is an small, open source command-line program which allows users to send e-mail messages by using SMTP or post.[1] It does not, however, have the ability to receive and read e-mail messages.[2] Clearly, this (and other factors) makes it less "user-friendly" than Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, but it offers a rare simplicity. Blat also allows the sending of e-mail messages to be somewhat automated, which can be helpful, but also harmful if used for the wrong purposes. While some people use this program to send reminders or notifications automatically, or even as an error reporting option, others use it for massive unsolicited mailings ("UCE" or "Spam").[3]
Compatibility
Blat seems to be compatible with almost all Windows operating systems, both 32 and 64-bit.
