Bay of Bengal

The Bay of Bengal is a triangular-shaped body of water, located in the north-eastern Indian Ocean. It is bordered by India to the west, Bangladesh to the north, and Myanmar (formerly Burma) and the Malay Peninsula to the east. It is separated from the Andaman Sea by the Andaman and Nicobar islands to the southeast.
The Bay covers an area of some 839,000 square miles (2,173,000 km2).
