Bambi
Bambi is a character from a novel titled Bambi, a Life in the Woods (originally published as Bambi. Eine Lebensgeschichte aus dem Walde), written by Austrian author Felix Salten in 1923. Bambi is a male roe deer.
Walt Disney adapted the novel into an animated movie, named after the character, that was released in 1942. The storyline follows Bambi from his birth to his mother's death and finally to the birth of his fawns. The Disney film also changes his species from a roe deer to a whitetail deer because the movie takes place in the United States of America; Walt had originally intended for Bambi to be a mule deer in California before he changed his mind, settling on a whitetail deer in Maine. A midquel was released in 2006, which shows the Great Prince of the forest raising Bambi after the fawn's mother dies.
