An axon terminal (also called synaptic bouton) is the far end of the branches of an axon. It is a component of a nerve cell (neuron). An axon nerve fiber is a long, slender projection of a neuron that conducts electrical impulses away from the neuron's cell body (soma), in order to transmit those impulses to other neurons.
