Austin Ruse
Austin Ruse is a conservative journalist and author, and president of the Center for Family and Human Rights (C-FAM). Through his work at C-FAM Ruse advocates against sodomy and abortion and in favor of families and unborn children's right to life in the United States and abroad.[1]
Background
Ruse converted to Roman Catholicism in the 1980s around which time he also experienced a political conversion to conservatism. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri and later received an honorary doctorate from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Ruse is a Knight in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and is a founding member of the Diplomatic Society of St. Gabriel, a member of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars, and the Society of Catholic Social Scientists. Ruse is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution since one of his ancestors fought in General George Washington's Army.[1]
In addition to receiving an honorary doctorate, Ruse has received numerous awards including:

- SpeakOut Illinois Henry Hyde Leadership Award.[1]
Career
Prior to Ruse's conversion he was professionally involved in high-level roles with New York Magazine, Forbes, Fortune, the Atlantic Monthly and Rolling Stone. However, after his conversion he left that market and volunteered with a Catholic priest for a time. Shortly thereafter, in 1997, he encountered a Canadian group working to fund a pro-life lobby at the United Nations. It was then that Ruse helped form C-FAM and he became one of its charter employees, and by 2000 he was working as the organization's president, a position he has held ever since.[1]
Censorship
Because of his conservative views Ruse has been the subject of considerably censorship on social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook. Despite changes in leadership and ownership in some of these platforms, Ruse has not sought to return instead opting to promote his and C-FAM's work by other means. Ruse often appears representing himself on conservative outlets like global Catholic network EWTN, on a wide variety of podcasts, and in written publications as a contributor.
