Aquinas' principle
From Conservapedia
Aquinas' principle relates to presenting arguments of opponent(s) in a debate. A person who has a primary obligation to the truth should always start by presenting the strongest arguments he can find against the position that he holds. Aquinas adhered to this principle in his famous Summa Theologiae. The quest for the truth is a morale absolute. No text is forbidden; no viewpoint inappropriate to explore while Socratic principle governs the conclusions to be made.[1]
