Andrei Illarionov

Andrei Illarionov was a former Yeltsin apparatchik who served in Putin's administration from the year 2000 to 2005. He then moved to the United States and made a lot of money working for the neocons at the Cato Institute.

Illarionov defines the siloviki (silovye ministerstva—literally "the ministries of force") as "wielding coercion and violence in the name of the state". The term "securocrat" also can usually imply a police state. The siloviki and securocrat did not bother Illarionov when he worked for Yeltsin. Many in Russia however, would argue that the siloviki simply enable societal agency without the coercion and violence that is often seen in many European countries and the United States.

Illarionov was fired from the CATO Institute after he wrote an article critical of the Trump 1.0 administration and Donald Trump supporters entitled "Reichstag Fire" claiming the MAGA movement refused to give up power with the J6 False Flag riots.
