Amanda Beard

Amanda Beard (b. California, 1981) won seven gold medals in the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympics, and was heavily promoted by the media. In 2007, she posed nude for Playboy and in 2008 posed nude for an animal rights group.[1]
At the 2008 Olympics, despite representing the American women's swim team as co-captain, she failed even to reach the semifinals in her specialty, the 200 meter breaststroke, and placed only 18th in the preliminaries.[2]
