Addiction and Psalms entail many powerful verses in the Book of Psalms which are helpful in overcoming addiction. Everyone suffers from some kind of addiction, and the most-read book of the Bible (Psalms) contains much in self defense via trust in God. Examples include:

Psalms 27:1-3 :

“ The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life;

of whom shall I be afraid?

When evildoers assail me

to eat up my flesh,

my adversaries and foes,

it is they who stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me,

my heart shall not fear;

though war arise against me,

yet I will be confident.
”

Psalm 55:23:

“ Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will bear you; He shall never allow a righteous man to falter. ”

Psalm 91:2

“ I shall say of the Lord [that He is] my shelter and my fortress, my God in Whom I trust. ”

Psalm 118:

V 6:

“ The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do unto me. ”

V 13:

“ I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the LORD helped me. ”

Psalm 119:31:

“ I clung to Your testimonies; O Lord; put me not to shame.. ”
