In Teachers v. Hudson, 475 U.S. 292, 302, 304-310 (1986), the U.S. Supreme Court established various procedural requirements that public-sector unions collecting agency fees must observe in order to ensure that an objecting nonmember can prevent the use of his fees for impermissible purposes.
