Sarah was the first of the patriarchs and matriarchs to be buried in [[Machpelah |Mearat Machpelah]] (the Cave of the Patriarchs). Eventually all the patriarchs and all the matriarchs but [[Rachel]] would be buried there. In Hebrew, the name Sarah means "princess" or "lady."
