Richard D. James (born 1971), also known as Aphex Twin or AFX is a seminal electronic musician from Limerick, Ireland. His influence on modern music is profound[1][2] and his records SAW: '85-'92 and The Richard D. James Album are often hailed as milestones in IDM, Acid House and Drill & Bass.[3]

In 1991, James founded Rephlex Records, which is today one of the most prominent IDM labels. Notable musicians on Rephlex include Squarepusher, The Tuss, Bogdan Raczynski and Luke Vibert.
