Realists

Realists were Scholasticists who preferred the works of Plato and his belief that universals existed in their own right. This view was at odds with Nominalism.[1] Conceptualism designates several metaphysical doctrines proposing a compromise between realism and nominalism which regard universals as concepts. Compare Idea and Idealism.
