Pandemic fatigue is a phenomena that refers to the effect that happens with the general public when faced with prolonged restrictions and government mandates as a response to confirmed or perceived dangers of a easily transmissible virus.

In November 2021, the White House indicated that Biden's sagging poll numbers may be due to COVID fatigue.[1]

Some reasons that cause pandemic fatigue include a desire to return back to "normalcy", discontent with lockdowns and masking, lack of respect for the desires of individual citizens to make the best choices in their own lives, and distrust of political leaders who set deadlines and move the goalposts or make conflicting statements.
