In the call, Nuland and Pyatt discussed the ouster of Ukrainian President [[Viktor Yanukovych]] and the installation of opposition leader [[Arseniy Yatsenyuk ]] as prime minister. Nuland favored opposition leader Yatsenyuk over his main rivals [[Vitali Klitschko ]] and Oleh Tyahnybok.<ref>In televiserd televised speech in 2004, Tyahnybok made comments such as, "[You are the ones] that the Moscow-Jewish mafia ruling Ukraine fears most" and "They were not afraid and we should not be afraid.
