Donald Henry Rumsfeld (b. July 9, 1932) was the Secretary of Defense under President Gerald Ford from 1975–1977, and President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2006, succeeding William J. Cohen. He resigned in 2006 after democrats criticized him over his handling of the War in Iraq.

He also served four terms in the House of Representatives, and as the US ambassador to NATO.
