"Doctor Strangelove, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" is a movie from the early 1960s that was a parody on the hawkish advocates of use of the [[atomic bomb]] against our military enemies. It was a successful comedy that continues to have a cult following to this day among those who follow politics.
The film was directed by noted [[liberal]] Stanley Kubrick, whose other films have dealt with inappropriate sexuality (Lolita and Eyes Wide Shut), the supposed [[|Theory of Evolution|evolution]] of man (2001), and a liberal view of the military (Full Metal Jacket). Like Full Metal Jacket, Dr. Strangelove is used as a tool to mock the military and portray the buildup of nuclear weapons as foolish, even though it was this footing that allowed the US to win the [[Cold War]] and defeat [[Communism]].
