Constellation

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by NItramNos (Talk | contribs) at 14:28, June 8, 2007. It may differ significantly from current revision.

A constellation is a configuration of stars that stands out to the human eye as making up a group. In the imagination they sometimes resemble an animal or other object, and in ancient times, people in different civilizations assigned them names based on their perceived shape. In astronomy the heavens are divided into regions based on constellations as a point of reference and to help in the location of stars.
