Beta blocker

Beta blockers (β-blockers) are a type of prescription medication prescribed for high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, and other conditions. They reduce the work the heart has to perform, thus lowering the heart rate.

Beta blockers are sometimes prescribed for off-label purposes. This includes psychiatrists prescribing them to patients with anxiety disorders to reduce some of the physical symptoms of anxiety. They are also prescribed for POTS.
