There have been good absolute monarchs, for example, [[Israel|Israel's]] [[King David]], and bad ones like [[King John]] of [[England]].
Contrary to popular opinion, absolute monarchies were never the norm in [[Medieval Europe]], but [[Feudalism|feudal]] monarchies.
