Transitional form
Transitional Forms - Transitional forms are fossil or living organisms that show a change from one species to another. A transitional form that has not yet been found is colloquially called a 'missing link'.
Currently many Americans feel that the fossil record contains many gaps [1].
Paleontologists typically reject this claim and some work has been done to provide the general public a better understanding of the complete fossil record. One such attempt is that by Kathleen Hunt who created a Transitional Vertebrate Fossil FAQ [2].
