The Millennial Age refers to a thousand-year reign of Jesus as suggested by the Biblical book of Revelation. There are differences of opinion within Christianity as to when the millennium will be, if ever. The Pretribulational rapture view is that the Rapture takes place before the judgment of the Tribulation and Christ's return. The Posttribulational rapture view is that God will guide mankind to perfection until Jesus comes to reign for a thousand years, and then the Christians will be raptured out. Most Catholics, Eastern Christians, Lutherans, Anglicans, Methodists and members of various smaller denominations are "amillennialists," meaning that they either take no stand on the issue, considering it to be a mystery, or else deny that there will be a literal millennium.
