Mixed economies

Mixed economies are economies which combine unregulated (but not necessarily "free") markets and government-subsidized or government-run industries. When mixed economies exist in democracies, there is popular pressure to privatize government industries seen as inefficient, but also to regulate private industries seen as harmful to society.
