The date of creation 9:00 AM, Friday, October 26, 4004 BC according to certain followers of Archbishop Ussher. This date is accepted by some Young Earth Creationists, but some, such as Henry Morris, accept a date that may have been a few thousand years earlier. This is based upon the Genesis genealogies. Some scholars accept that there may be some gaps in the genealogies. [1]

Creationists cite James Barr, regius professor of Hebrew at Oxford University, who wrote in 1984 the following: "… probably, so far as I know, there is no professor of Hebrew or Old Testament at any world-class university who does not believe that the writer(s) of Genesis 1–11 intended to convey to their readers the ideas that: … the figures contained in the Genesis genealogies provided by simple addition a chronology from the beginning of the world up to later stages in the biblical story.’" [2] It should be noted Barr also wrote a book attacking biblical inerrancy. [3]

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)
