Norman Rockwell was an artist of the mid-1900s. He painted many scenes of American Life, including "The Four Freedoms" and "The Family Dinner". His work was widely reprinted after his death, such as in Reader's Digest and on stamps. However, art critics considered him a lesser artist than Michelangelo or Titian, because he worked principly in pen and ink, rather than in oil paints or fresco.
