Synecdoche

Synecdoche is a specific form of metonymy in which a part of something is used to refer to the whole. Examples would include "hired hands" or "the Crown Heads of Europe," "I left my heart in Texas," etc., as the "hands," "heads," and "heart" do not refer to severed body parts, but whole people.
