Angelo R. Liteky was a Catholic Priest serving in Vietnam as a chaplain when he was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions. His citation states that he carried over twenty wounded men to safety during a savage battle with Vietnamese forces. Much of the time Fr. Liteky was exposed to direct fire by enemy forces. He later left the priesthood and renounced his medal by mailing it to President Reagan.
