Lightsaber
A Lightsaber is a fictional science fiction weapon from the Star Wars films. It consists, in the Star Wars universe, of a powerful beam of energy emitted from a cylinder-shaped handle. According to canon, the weapon emits a beam of intense light almost a meter in length and the diameter of an average human male's thumb. it emits no heat, but can cut through any kind of matter -with the exception of another lightsaber. In the hands of a skilled user, the beam can deflect blaster bolts and absorb Force weapons such as Sith lightning.
Other versions vary in style and usage. Dual-bladed lightstaffs, tonfa-styled, and other variations are seen and referenced in the Star Wars universe.
Lightsabers are typically only wielded by those with Force powers. Jedi lightsabers are usually green or blue, while those wielded by evil characters are typically red.
