His real name is Robert and the first manuscript he wrote was the book that would become Echoes of the Fourth Magic.

Forgotten Realms Novels

He wrote many series, from "The Spearwielders Tale," and "The Crimson Shadow", but his most famous character is Drizzt Do' Urden, the dark elf or drow. Drizzt's early life was depicted in theDark Elf Trilogy, where the swashbuckling drow rose above his dark origins. Most of R. A. Salvator's other Forgotten Realms series follow Drizzt on his adventures across the world with a close circle of companions. Some other classic R. A. Salvator characters are depicted in novels featuring Drizzt. These notable characters are Regis the Hafling, Bruenor Battlehammer, Obould Many-Arrows, Matron Malice, Jarlaxle, Cattie-Brie, Artemis Entreri, Athrogate, Morik the Rogue, and Wulfgar the Barbarian. R. A. Salvator also created the crystal shard Crenishibon, the sentient crystal whispering fallacies into the mind of the beholder. a The Forgotten Realms was first created by Ed Greenwood, a fellow author.
