Plasma

A plasma is an gas where some or all of its atoms have had their electrons stripped off, this state is called ionized. Therefore, a plasma consists of both negatively charged electrons, and positively charged ions. A plasma is generally regarded as the 4th state of matter.^{[Citation Needed]}
