A Local Minimum occurs on a function at a point such that the function is greater than the minimum for an area around the function. The function must be continuous in this area.
Mathematically, a local minimum is said to exist at point c if: <math>f(c) < f(x)</math>, for some <math>|x-c|<a</math>.
