Lice

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by PhilipI (Talk | contribs) at 12:39, November 29, 2008. It may differ significantly from current revision.

Lice are a family of parasitic insects which feed on mammalian blood. They are known to transmit a range of diseases. Head lice are the most commonly encountered by humans, and are distinguished by their lateral flattening and sucking mouthparts. Combing hair frequently reduces the risk of head lice.
