Note that "The Hobbit" is not a prequel to "The Lord of the Rings". The Hobbit was written in 1937, and LOTR was written from 1939 through 1949. In order to be a prequel, The Hobbit would have had to be written after LOTR. Brewer13210 18:54, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

I think that one can't say that Lord of the Rings is a "sequel" to the hobbit. The Lord of the Rings is much thicker in style, writing and information. --User:Additioner 14:40, 25 April 2007
