The Cherry Orchard

The Cherry Orchard is the most famous play by Russian writer Anton Chekhov. It was first performed in 1904 at the Moscow Art Theatre. It's climatic anti-climax is much studied with people today still disagreeing about whether its classification is that of a tragedy or comedy.
