The Open-Carry Movement is a recent movement towards the freedom to openly carry a gun for self defense purposes. Open-Carry supporters argue that since they have the right to own and possess a gun on their person then they should also have the right, which they do, to carry their weapons in the open without having to hid them away. This movement has quickly gained popularity in the United States.
