Liberal Christianity refers to Protestant denominations, or churches within denominations, that view the Bible as the witness of God rather than the word of God, to be interpreted in its historical context through critical analysis. Examples include some churches within Anglican/Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and United Church of Christ churches.[1] The word "liberal" in liberal Christianity does not refer to any political agenda or set of beliefs.

Liberal Churches

Christian churches often fall victim to liberals and societies liberal surroundings; media, print, Hollywood, money, idols, etc. The teaching of Christ cannot be changed to reflect the times. Yet many churches fall into the trap of being open to gay congregations and gay rights. They support political parties even though this is forbidden by tax-exempt laws. They even welcome abortion candidates to speak at their altars. Some Christian churches actually use hate speech in their sermons and they are given standing ovations for it. [2]
