Examples of Conservative Style
The style of a conservative often includes these characteristics:
- Portrayal of an issue as if all viewpoints on the matter could clearly be classified in one of two ways (e.g. someone is either "pro-abortion" or "anti-abortion")
- Demonizing all negative traits as "liberal" in some form
- Generalizing liberals as one group with the same view
- A belief that any and all problems can be solved with conservative values
- Labeling any scientific study contrary to a conservative point as liberal bias
- Blaming larger societal problems on specific minorities such Homosexuals, African-Americans or Mexican-Americans
- Appealing to "truth" or "accuracy" when accused of not providing a balanced depiction of an issue
