Eyemouth is a small fishing port in Berwickshire in south-east Scotland. It lies at the entrance of the Eye Water to the North Sea. Eyemouth is remembered for the tragic events of 14 October 1881, when a storm of unprecedented violence caught the town's fishing fleet at sea and unprotected: 19 of 45 boats were lost, and 129 men perished.
