Zambia is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. The country is mostly a high plateau with some little hills and mountains. The climate in Zambia is tropical with a rainy season from November to May. Lusaka is Zambia's capital, as it gained independence from the British in 1964. English and other indigenous languages are spoken and are the official language of Zambia. Zambia borders Angola and Cameroon. People from Zambia are called Zambians. 75% of Zambians are Christian. Women have an average of 6.5 children each and most Zambians have a life expectancy of 36 years.
