Stromness is a small port town on the island of Mainland, Orkney. It stands at the western entrance to Scapa Flow, and is the main port connecting Orkney with the mainland of Scotland, with services to Scrabster, near Thurso, and to Aberdeen. Stromness Museum has a collection relating to the First World War German fleet that was scuttled in Scapa Flow in 1919.
