Sweetener

Sweetener is a substance that sweetens foods and/or beverages. Such as sugar or a low-calorie synthetic product used instead of sugar.
The word is also used as a descriptor, such as describing an added inducement: "As a sweetener to induce applications for the position, potential employees were offered two weeks paid medical leave each year."
