Joan Sebastian del Cano was was born in 1476 and was the Capitan of the first ship to circumnavigate the globe. He captained the Victoria under Ferdinand Magellan but when Magellan was Killed, and all the other ships were either lost or captured, his ship alone made it back to spain. At first he was given all the credit for the trip, but later it was restored to Magellan. Cano died in 1526.
