House of Châtillon

The house of Châtillon was a famous French dynasty, with origns in the 9th century, and which got extinct in 1762. The name goes back to a county in the region of Champagne, with as captial Châtillon-sur-Marne, with as other major branches Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, Blois, Penthièvre, Chartres, etc. The Counts of Châtillon used the additional title Prince of Porcien.
