Elrond

Elrond, a half-elf, was master of Rivendell in The Lord of the Rings. His daughter was betrothed to his ward, Aragorn, whom he sent on many journeys of knight-errantry. Elrond presided over the council which chose the Fellowship of the Ring and assigned Frodo the quest of Mordor.
