This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Scriabin (Talk | contribs) at 03:58, March 14, 2007. It may differ significantly from current revision.

The violin is the highest pitched String Instruments used in western orchestra. Its high pitch makes sense becuase it gives it the melody in most classical works.

The violin is also used in folk and popular music and is traditionally called a fiddle.

The composers Chopin and Rachmaninoff are famous for their violin works and are well known as violin virtuosi.
