Ghana

Ghana is a nation of west Africa. It has a southern [[Atlantic Ocean}} coastline, and is bounded to the west by Ivory Coast, to the north by Burkina Faso and to the east by Togo. Its capital city is Accra. Ghana has a land area of 92,100 square miles (238,537 sq km) and a population of 23 millions.
Ghana was formerly a British colony and was known as Gold Coast. It was the first British territory in sub-saharan Africa to gain independence (excepting South Africa), in 1957.
