Salutary Neglect

Salutary neglect was the lenient enforcement of Laws in the British colonies from 1607-1730s. The colonists like salutary neglect, as they were not restricted much by foreign laws and taxes. However after the French and Indian War, England began to enforce its laws overseas, an act regarded to be one of the first direct causes of the Revolutionary War.
